Well, it would appear that I turned the game on last night with 25 seconds left in the 3rd period and I did not miss a thing!!!
Vancouver takes game 1, and my prediction of it being a short series is still alive.

Indianapolis 500 - At lap 100
On this the 100th Anniversary of the Grreatest race in motorsports, the Indianapolis 500 has been really cool. I mean, the day started with some great videos of the past 100 years, celebrity after celebrity endorsing the big race.
I can't get enough out of Danica Patrick and those "Go Daddy" shots, and the National Anthem performed by Seal, Kelly Clarkson and David Foster on the ivories.
Oh the race........... At Lap 100, the race is led by Scott Dixon and the top 5 include Dario Franchiiti, JR Hildebrand, Alex Tagliani, and O. Servia and Ed Carpenter.
I am pulling for Pole winner and fellow Canadian Alex Tagliani, but I am not sure he has the car to get him to victory circle, for that mason jar full of buttermilk and probably the second greatest trophy in sports (only behind Lord Stanley of Course)
I guess we will see how it all shapes up, and then off to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600 where I cheer on #29 as he starts 28th! A great, great weekend of auto racing!

A Special weekend for two Special guys - Couch and Sinkewich
It's not everyday I get to congratulate 2 of my favorite hockey players.
So for Michael Couch and Russ Sinkewich it has been a big week.
Russ captured the Kelly Cup with his teamates of the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League by defeating the Kalamzoo K-Wings. They now Reign as East Coast Hockey League Champions. Russ has really rounded his game out with becoming more physical by posting 57 minutes in penalties in over 50 games this year!
Michael last night in a tight 2-1 game 7, defeated Colorado to bring the Presidents Cup home to his Central Hockey League's Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team. Michael had a solid playoff run where this year he stuck to minor penalties instead of Majors (for those of you that noticed)
Johnstown's two favorite sons are now Champions! Great year guys and good move getting out of the Jingle!

Welcome to the class of 2011 - NASCAR Hall of Fame
David Pearson thanked Richard Petty for Making him run hard, and got a good laugh! He had a long speech telling stories and embracing old friends. The fans loved it as he is remembered as maybe the best driver ever. He was so competitive with over 100 poles and over 100 wins, Pearson brought home the National championship 3 times.
Bud Moore stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day at 18. But really was loved for his work on the track as an owner. This true blue multiple Purple Heart winning war hero drove in 41 races over 5 years and then becaem one of the best Owners ever. He was one of those guys that if he had a car and a vacant spot, anyone would want to drive for him because he knew how to win. Bud Moore had drivers such as Fireball Roberts, Darel Dieringer, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Isaac, Dale Earnhardt, Darrell Waltrip, Donnie Allison, Geoff Bodine, Ricky Rudd, Brett Bodine, and Morgan Shepherd get behind the wheel for him.
Bobby Allison was remembered by his brother Davey Allison and the fun stories flowed. Loved by the fans Bobby was declared one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers of all time. People loved him and hated him! He was very cool at the mic at the 2011 NASCAR HOF induction ceremony and got laughs and cheers from his fans and fellow friends during the ceremony. He run in over 700 races with multiple wins at DAYTONA. He damn near died at Pocono as well in 1988, but came back to win the following week.
Lee Petty's memory was brought out by his boys Richard Petty. He was the first Driver to drive for a living and make a living of it. His boys told fond memories of him being a great driver and father. Richard even went as far as to think that his father should have been inducted before him.
Ned Jarrett was a winner on the track and off the track as well. He was a winning driver and a fan favourite as he called home his son Dale as he went on to win the Daytona 500. One of CBS best NASCAR Moments, that and when he had then president Ronald Reagen in the booth during Richard Petty's 200th win. A father , driver, commentator and spokesperson, Ned probably has spent more than 50 years in the sport and couldn't be more appreciated and loved.
All inductees appreciated the legacy of the France Family and NASCAR's fans and tracks!

Well, we are slowly approaching the best time of the year! When competition heats up, trade deadlines approach and things get interesting.
I myself am pretty excited for this season's NASCAR. So excited, I'm gong to Daytona for America's Race!I'm pulling for the #29 all season, as Kevin Harvick starts his future in the famous Budweiser Car!
I also am looking forward to seeing the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in Tampa this upcoming week. A short trip to my first experience at the Sarasota Kennel club is also on the books for Friday, which includes $.50 Admission, $.50 Beers and $.50 Hot dogs. Should be a great afternoon at the dog track.
I am also focusing on learning as much as I can about Men's NCAA basketball as I have decided to take in the action from Las Vegas, NV. in March, you know, during the madness!!! I don't know exactly who I like, but my heart always says screams DUKE. I'm going to follow St. John's, Wisconsin, NC, and Florida (to see my long last cousin Kenny Boynton???)
Not much has changed, the Leafs played well last night after a 7-0 beating by NYR. Tampa is playing lights out (but I told you that a few months ago). Surprising short handed goals by Matt Cullen this week, Great play by Mike Richards last night in fight filled affair, and Slumping badly Pittsburgh needs Sidney Crosby back!!
NHL All-Star game next week from Carolina should be good!
